Some great crafts-folk have curated a beautiful auction as a benefit for Japan. Their project was featured on the New York Times Blog today. The auction starts March 24th, so have a look if you get a chance.  Here's a sampling of some of the exquisite objects in the auction:

Real Wedding: EJ and Linh

Real wedding: Nicole and Wolfgang

nicolewolf_0465_xl Nicole and Wolfgang's gorgeous wedding is featured on Martha Stewart Weddings! The couple choose our Orchid design for their Napa Valley wedding, featuring real orchids by Sharla Flock Designs.

The wedding took place at a private home of a friend of the couple. Dinner was served in the remodeled barn on the property, with catering from The Girl and The Fig, a local Sonoma eatery.

The Exquisite Book

exn1041346 We recently collaborated with friend and artist Julia Rothman on The Exquisite Book, a pet project of hers along her colleagues Jenny Volvovski and Matt Lamothe from ALSO. Inspired by the Surrealist game, Exquisite Corpse, the book features over one hundred contemporary artists (including H!L's Eunice Moyle!), each completing one page of the book. Real wedding: Erin and Jeremy

It was a truly fabulous and fun affair, designed by Alison Events, with lots of ingenious details, including a vintage card catalog that acted as the seating guide. Each guest's card was cross-referenced with other guests according to interests, life history, etc....

We collaborated with Erin and Jeremy to come up with a charming array of stationery inspired by vintage ephemera and McSweeny's. The invitation was supposed to look like a page torn from a book...

The replies were Mad Libs fashioned to look like an old school Western Union telegram...
