Real Wedding: Jeska and Brad

Cable Car Jeska Brad

We absolutely love it when we get to work with clients who think outside the box and aren't afraid to veer away from tradition and get creative with their weddings. This was absolutely the case with Jeska and Brad, who had one of the most unique celebrations we've seen in a long time.

Big Day Wedding Suite Purple

Jeska and Brad chose our Big Day suite in letterpress. We loved the pop of purple in their invites, which was definitely a running theme throughout the wedding -- from the brides hair, to the flowers, to the purple layer at the bottom of her gorgeous custom made dress.

Keep Calm and Marry On

A good reminder for everyone's big day!

Robot Cake Toppers

These robot cake toppers are pretty amazing, we're especially loving the paper flags with their initials.

Big Day Table Numbers

Jeska and Brad printed out our free Big Day table numbers and mounted them on purple paper of course. How pretty are those flowers?

Seating Chart

Genius seating chart which let's people know where they are sitting and also explains who everyone is.

Jeska & Brad

Congratulations Jeska & Brad! Thanks for being such a fun couple to work with!

Wedding Inspiration Board - Nouveau Peonies

Today we're bringing you a wedding inspiration board for one of our most popular and dare we say favorite wedding invitations, Nouveau Peonies. If you're planning a celebration around this invitation you can go all out feminine or emphasis the 1920's vibe this design showcases. Pretty pink petal cupcakes above from All Things Cupcake.

If you love your wedding suite and really want to bring the design to the table there's no reason not to print up menus, they'll add to the place settings and reinforce your theme of the day. Big paper poofs in whatever color you chose for your invite are always a lovely addition to the decor. And how's this for a classic wedding getaway car?

There are so many different directions you can go for a wedding dress to match the charm and sophistication of Nouveau Peonies. Go all out 1920's with this flapper wedding dress or chose a more soft and subtle style like this pretty cream colored gown.

To see more curated inspiration for our Nouveau Peonies wedding suite check out our Pinterest board. Is there a wedding suite you've got your eye on that you'd like us to create a mood board for? Tell us in the comments and we'll get to work on it for you!

Vintage Wedding in California

This real wedding featured on Wedding Chicks is just gorgeous. We adore the vintage vibe that this bride and her team pulled off and nature never fails to be the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony.  We're big fans of Rifle Paper Co. so we loved seeing the save the date postcard we designed for Brianne and Brandon paired with their lovely wedding invitations.

The couple carried the invitation design to the drink table with this table cloth from Rifle. They did a great job of setting up an easy do-it-yourself drink table as well.

How stunning is this ombre cake made by Crisp Bake Shop in Sonoma?

Dawn Ranch is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding, and with just a few simple touches the space can really be transformed. We love the look of these streamers in the apple trees.

The flowers were done by Spiral Hand, just adding small vintage jars to the table with some colorful pops of flowers is all you really need for an outdoor wedding where nature takes center stage.

To see more of this wedding head over to Wedding Chicks. Congratulations Brianne and Brandon! Here's to many years of happiness!

Real Wedding: Tina and Gregory

It's been awhile since we've had a classic New York City wedding come our way. Tina and Gregory touched on all our favorite Big Apple details, from an incredible rooftop view to a traditional black and white color palette. It's beautiful in its simplicity and we're delighted to have played a part.

Our New York City Skyline invitation was the perfect choice for the couple. The charcoal gray and white set the tone for the event.

We can't get over the intricacy of this cake/cupcake tower combo by Billy's Bakery. You can't go wrong with edible pearls!

Another wedding for the books. Congratulations to Tina and Gregory!

Top of the Mark

This fall we had the pleasure of working with a team at the Top of the Mark at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel for a special photo shoot. As such an iconic hotel with deep San Francisco history, we were thrilled to create a custom skyline invitation for the event. Our San Francisco Skyline is packed with significant imagery, but one thing was missing for this Nob Hill destination. We created a new icon for the mix and included the Top of the Mark peaking above our lovely city by the bay.

If you haven't been to the Top of the Mark, it's a must for visitors and city dwellers. Their views are some of the best in the city, and the bar makes a delicious cocktail.

Can you see the difference? We love having the Mark Hopkins in our Skyline!

These photos by Rien van Rijthoven of Architecture Photography capture the magic of the Mark Hopkins so well. With elegant tablescapes and jaw-dropping views, this venue makes any event a dream.

Thanks to the Top of the Mark for such a fun project and to Rien van Rijthoven for the beautiful images!

Real Wedding: Darcy and Kevin

As a boutique and very hands-on wedding vendor, we're always happy to reach out to our brides and grooms around the globe. But when an event takes place right here in the heart of San Francisco, we feel proud to be a part. Darcy and Kevin's glamorous San Francisco wedding covered a lot of ground, from the beautiful Presidio Chapel to the funky Bimbo's 365 Club. The lively couple had a lot of fun with their decor, and they seem to have had a blast on their big day. It was all captured by the talented Andrew Weeks Photography with lovely details by Dream a Little Dream Events.

Of course with a reception venue like Bimbo's, vintage glamour is a must. We created custom stationery of the San Francisco skyline for their paper programs and table numbers.

Michele Papineau's beautiful calligraphy led guests to their tables in style.

The sensational ombre pink wedding cake by Sage Catering was a focal point of the event. We love how it basically glows among the dark and romantic decor.

Congratulations Kevin and Darcy!

Winter Wedding Roundup

It's getting colder and the days are getting shorter, meaning we're gearing up for the winter months ahead. Snow is falling in many parts of the world creating a gorgeous white backdrop for our favorite winter weddings. There's something very romantic about a winter ceremony, whether it's the peacefulness of the seasons or that friends and family slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. We've gathered a few of our favorite Pins from Pinterest in a Winter Wedding Roundup. Getting engaged this season? Winter is a beautiful time to say "I do," so take a peek at these images for inspiration for 2013.

Real Wedding: Rachel and Jared

One thing we never get tired of is a beautiful feminine wedding. Yes, we love modern details and quirky decor, but a traditional wedding with delicate touches just feels right. This real wedding of Rachel and Jared covers all bases. From the neutral tones and blush pink bouquets, to the Parisian influenced food and romantic decorations, it's simply beautiful. Rachel and Jared share a love of french culture, and knew their big day would have to incorporate their favorite place (and honeymoon destination). The Villa San Juan Capistrano provided a perfect backdrop with rustic walls and dreamy greenery. And what can we say about that Lazaro wedding dress? Stunning.

We couldn't imagine a more fitting invitation than our Nouveau Peonies suite. The couple even had a custom program made to match their invites.

Gorgeous florals and boutonnieres by Krista Jon.

This might just be our favorite detail of Rachel and Jared's wedding. This textural ombre cake by Sweet and Saucy Shop and those pistachio green macarons look très délicieux.

Congratulations to Rachel and Jared! What a lovely wedding. To see more pictures head over to Ruffled for a full feature and image gallery!

Painted Matters: Artistic Wedding Cakes

Never thought you'd have a sweet tooth for art, would you? Modern pastry chefs are breaking ground with painterly wedding cakes. We can't think of a better way to express yourself on your big day than with a work of art on your dessert table. It's amazing what food coloring can accomplish these days, and with stunners like this rosy wonder (shown above, by Amelie's House), it's clear these chefs can do anything.

This dramatic ombre style by Charm City Cakes (found via Design Sponge) tops the charts. Duff and Co. certainly know how to have fun with their tasty treats, but this four-tiered beauty is - in all seriousness - beautiful.

It's true we may favorite the soft florals and vintage style, but this graphic silhouette cake by My Sweet and Saucy would be perfect for a bold and whimsical wedding.

Of course the team at Martha Stewart Weddings has a spot on our list, impressing us again with this french silk ribbon cake. It is retro and modern, with a subtle ikat texture, and would dazzle the dessert table at any occasion. All of these cakes are found in our Wedding Cake board on Pinterest. Check it out here for more cake love!

Wedding Inspiration Pin Boards

Wedding season may be coming to an end soon, but we know how important it is to plan ahead. Seasonal trends will come and go but once you've chosen your wedding invitations it's easy to create a complete look. We're still busy pinning inspiration around some of our most popular wedding invitation designs. Our Pinterest Wedding Inspiration Boards are a great way to develop a look without aimlessly scrolling through image after image. Whether you're having a bright modern wedding or a rustic, natural wedding, our inspiration boards have lots to offer. Above is a mini collage of our favorite images from our Big Day Inspiration Board. This wedding invitation speaks loudly to our fans, and with the whimsical wording and bold typeface it's a shoe-in for a splashy event.

Real Wedding: Marie and Sam

After a true tale of travels, Marie and Sam tied the knot at the heavenly Farm Kitchen in Poulsbo, Washington near their hometown of Bainbridge Island. Their story of friendship, love, and forever is truly endearing, and after seeing these lovely photos by Yvonne Wong it's obvious the two were meant to be right from the start. We've seen weddings at the Farm Kitchen before, all with a rustic barnyard invitation, but Marie and Sam chose to use a more romantic design for their big day. They customized our Nouveau Peonies suite with just a hint of purple and we love the outcome.

Set among a field of perfectly pruned flowers, it was only natural to include floral arrangements wherever possible. This cake by Blackbird Bakery could be the most perfect combination of rustic elegance we've ever seen!

We're delighted the couple chose us to create their wedding stationery. Congratulations Marie and Sam! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness. For more photos head over to Style Me Pretty!

Mendocino Boho Wedding Shoot

Did you see this charming boho wedding shoot on Green Wedding Shoes? It was styled by Karin Kamb of Clever Girl Consulting and photographed by none other than Edyta Szyszlo. The sultry green backdrop of the Mendocino Farmhouse paired with the neutral organic elements of the clothing and decor made for a comfortable and romantic setting. The models are local folk singers, too, which made their connection seem so perfect.

Eunice designed a brand new wedding suite for the shoot, appropriately titled Bluegrass. It's still in the works but will be available on our website soon!

Real Wedding: Ellie and Jon

Whilst the downside of our temperate climate here in London is that this summer has, to date, been a complete wash-out, the silver lining is that the flowers have been blooming like never before. This was so wonderfully apparent at the Cheshire wedding of Ellie and Jon in late June where cottage garden favourites like peonies, roses and delphiniums abounded and were so perfectly picked-up in our Nouveau Peonies design that they chose for all their stationery. We love the way that the lace of Ellie’s beautiful dress was echoed in the place cards and how the floral theme was continued to the cake iced simply in white rose motifs.

Even the weather stayed fair!

All of us at Hello Lucky would like to wish Ellie and Jon all the best and to thank Ellie’s Mother, Jan, for being so wonderfully organized with the stationery!

Cake Toppers by Madeline Trait

We're really enjoying the new trend of stylish cake toppers, especially when they're made by local artists. The multi-talented Madeline Trait not only carries these one-of-a-kind laser cut cake toppers on her Etsy site, she also runs a successful business in event and floral design in San Francisco. The toppers are all designed by Madeline in a gorgeous wood veneer and come in all shapes and sizes. We love that you can paint them to match your wedding or event details, but Madeline also has custom painted cake toppers for your convenience!

Bicycle Weddings

If there's one thing we're really into this summer, it's gotta be a good bicycle wedding. It may be because we live in a bike-friendly city (despite all the hills!) or that we melt in the charm of the rusty tires and cute carrying baskets. A good bicycle wedding consists of your standard adorable tandem bike photo, the flower basket above the handle bars, and our favorite - the printed bicycle stationery. Our new French Bicycle wedding invitation designed by Jacqui Lee has all the summery details we love: balloons, bikes, and red, white, and blue. Here's a little collection of some of our favorite bicycle weddings we've seen around the web.

1. Best bicycle wedding...ever - Green Wedding Shoes 2. French Bicycle folded thank you card designed by Jacqui Lee - Hello!Lucky 3. Killer belt buckle - The Knotty Bride 4. Amazing bicycle fruit cake - Rocket Fuel 5. Kissing bride and groom cake topper - Wedding Star 6. French Bicycle wedding invitation designed by Jacqui Lee - Hello!Lucky 7. A Most Curious Wedding Fair

Saturdays at the historic York Hall in London's East End may usually be associated with boxing matches and Turkish baths but last weekend it was the venue for the first Most Curious Wedding Fair in London. Rather than the 3-day events this was just a single afternoon but after the doors opened the hall very swiftly filled-up.

It was lovely to see so many small independent traders there nearly all with something unique and charming on display all with a distinctly vintage theme. For our own booth we created a fold-out screen in calico and then hand-drew picture frames onto them and mounted the invitations onto acetate sheets which we attached using upholstery tacks secured by a small cork at the back. Larger suites of invitations we just laid-out on the table in the front for the guests to handle to feel the quality of the cardstock.

Among the many stands that took our eye were this fantastic paper artist called Suzi McLaughlin who creates the most exquisite works from folded paper and laser-cutting. We just adored the simplicity of the bouquet made from printed paper.

For an equally beautiful keep-sake Suzi also makes 3d books where the pages are folded over and have a cloud of butterflies (or anything else you may want) flocking out of them. Or this beautifully simple open book with a simple corsage. Just stunning!

Entertainment was provided on the stage throughout the afternoon with ballerina models giving a fashion show of vintage dresses, music from The Old Time String Band and from a couple of very saucy burlesque dancers! It was good to be at a show where there was most certainly something for grooms!

There were a couple of bakers and caterers that caught our eye. Christina at Feast Food certainly did both with her wonderful dress, fantastic display of delicious-looking goodies and the lovely old kitchen dresser . They cater any event and can provide the crockery and service to if needs be!

Pom Poms of a different sort from BeauButtons who create these fantastic bouquets from vintage buttons and notions; a truly inspired way to put Granny's old button box to good use and to serve as a lasting memento to all those much-loved dresses and coats.

A couple of wonderful characters couldn't fail but to catch our eye! For those of you wanting a totally unique service provided at your wedding, look no further than Reginald Spleen and his travelling snuff bar. Like a living cameo from a 19th Century state fair Mr. Spleen brings a wide selection of this delicacy from tobacco-free lemon snuff to deep, rich 'knock your socks off' Cafe Noir...the taste of which stays with the taker for several hours...trust me!

Lastly we couldn't help but mention Pearls and Swine and its particularly colourful designer Bink. From all the wonderful fascinators and headpieces on her stall she chose this spectacular fruity model - and we are all very glad she did as it kept a smile on our faces all afternoon!

Congratulations to Gemma and Becky from Most Curious for putting-on such a pleasurable and successful event - here's to the next one!

Today's Bride

These photos from Nancy Liu Chin's Anatomy of Today's Bride for Today's Bride SF are to die for! We were approached by Nancy awhile ago in efforts to come up with a classic and whimsical invitation and day-of paper suite for her ultra-sweet photo shoot. It was a piece of cake once she shared her inspiration with us, and knowing which amazing vendors were also on board, we knew it would be a hit.

You can see our working files below. We were really into mismatched patterns and folded cards. If you look closely, the invitation reads Christian & Dior, tres chic!

Real Wedding: Jessica and Lawrence

We're still completely captivated by this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty last week. The bride and groom stunned us with their romantic details, and all-together charm.

Jessica and Lawrence wed in a little garden at the Gore Palace in Waltham, a town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The setting definitely set the mood for their dreamy garden wedding, with tall hedges and outstanding floral displays by Le Reve.

The Nouveau Peonies inspired programs also matched perfectly with the event. The bridesmaids all wore shades of pink, adding just the right amount of color to the natural setting.

Nouveau Peonies made another appearance at the table setting, with fresh sprigs and dreamy gold accents. Delish!

Congratulations Jessica and Lawrence! We wish you both a world of happiness!
