Hello!Lucky meets Hello Shiso!

Yesterday we met with our new favorite accessory designer Mimi Tsang of Hello Shiso. The company started in 2010 with Mimi assembling each product personally by hand & has since flourished! We are in love with Hello Shiso designs. These accessories serve as the perfect addition to the little ladies outfit! We couldn't resist and had to buy some for Eunice's baby Imogen who is modeling her new Hello Shiso clips below! Check out these sweet heart shaped bobby pins, just in time for Valentines Day! Imogen's Birth Announcement

Eunice's baby girl Imogen was born on August 16th of this year. For the birth announcement, Eunice went for a hand-illustrated approach for the main, and drew inspiration from our sunshine stationery for the french/chinese insert. She used printstagram for the photo. Printstagram is an awesome service that prints your instagram photos on little squares and ships them to you within the week! We are all smitten with the outcome of this birth announcement!birth announcement

Family Photo Shoot with Leah McCormick

Photography by Leah McCormick Just before Imogen was born, we were lucky enough to squeeze in a family photo shoot with the AMAZING Leah McCormick...

photography by Leah McCormick

We just got the photos back this week, and I couldn't resist sharing them - Leah did such a fabulous job capturing our family (and all accompanying silliness)...

Photography by Leah McCormick

The shoot was so relaxed and fun that even my husband Daniel, who is usually a bit grumbly about being made to participate in such shenanigans, had a great time - and was super pleased with the results...

Love her sense of composition and the way she captures light and color!

Welcome to the World Imogen Hope James!

This past weekend Eunice gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Imogen Hope James. Mother and baby are doing fantastic and big brother Jude is already in love with his little sister.

Congratulations to Eunice and Daniel! Together Eunice and Sabrina have 4 boys -- the Hello!Lucky team is so happy to finally have a sweet little girl to spoil and dote on!

Welcome to the world Imogen!

Eunice's Nursery Style

Eunice, our co-founder and creative director, is due to have her baby this week and it's been really fun to see her pull together her baby girls nursery. We're loving Eunice's nursery style and would't mind moving in ourselves. She's still working on the final pieces and waiting for everything to arrive but we wanted to share the cuteness already in place.

Here's what Eunice had to say about creating the nursery space: The overall look I was going for was light and airy and modern with some sweet girly details.  The overall palette is pale pinks and greys and neutrals (inspired by my obsession with French interior design) with occasional dashes of neon pink.  I chose the photos because my 3 year old Jude is obsessed with animals (particularly baby animals) and I thought it would be great to make the baby's nursery a place he would enjoy as well.

Eunice got the sweet baby animal prints from The Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose. How absolutely adorable are they? Such a great idea for a nursery. The bunny lamp above is from Sunday In Color. And she found the bassinet on giggle, a great place to shop for kids and babies.

To see more of Eunice's nursery style inspiration check out the pinboard she created. She's also working on a downstairs room for Imogen (her baby girls name!) which we'll share photos of as it comes together!

Links below to where Eunice sourced everything in her nursery: CribChanging StationDresser, Chandelier from ebay, BeddingChanging Pad CoverAtsuo et Akikio PillowMobile (to come), Rocker (on it's way).

Planning the perfect baby shower

There’s a lot of speculation around what the Duchess of Cambridge will plan for her pregnancy, birth and beyond. When it came to planning my own baby shower for my daughter Sienna last year, I decided to splash out and get cake and cookie expert Peggy Porschen to create some cookies and a cake in my chosen theme, which was owls. The results were adorable as you can see from these snapshots. I furthered the colour theme with pink balloons and was lucky to receive the cutest gifts including three Jellycat soft toy owls!

If you’re looking for ideas for your baby shower, take a look at what Hello!Lucky have on offer: super cute printable invitations and free (yes free) DIY template and instructions for creating your own pom-poms made out of cupcake liners! Your house or venue is sure to look cute with these hanging up for any type of celebration.

Coming back to Kate and an imaginary baby shower for her, if I was sister Pippa, I would have a tea party in the garden at Kensington palace, I’d fill it with pretty vintage tea sets from Idyllic Days and funky flowers by Wild at Heart. Catherine’s friends would eat strawberries and cream flavoured mini red velvet cupcakes from The Hummingbird bakery and walk away with goodie bags filled with personalized cookies from Biscuiteers and smellies from the Cowshed.

Also, once the baby arrives be sure to check out Hello!Lucky’s birth announcements, they’re so sweet. Scott’s giraffe design was from their main collection and Sienna’s owl was a special custom design that Eunice Moyle was kind enough to create for us.

Happy birth and celebrations to you all!

Inspired By: Wee Gallery

How clever are these Wee Gallery Dress Up animal cards? As stationers it's sometimes a challenge to come up with designs that can be suitable for both kids and adults, but these cards definitely bridge that gap. We love the simple and painterly illustrations and the thought of kids customizing these card for a friend or sibling. So sweet! The Wee Gallery definitely has a knack for kids, and their focus on making “smart art for little minds” is brilliant. Getting kids to channel their creativity at a young age is a great way to inspire new ideas and we've got to give props to Wee Gallery for contributing.

They also just released a book to go along with the clever cards! It would be a great stocking stuffer or gift for kids (oh, and did we say this is fun for adults too?!) We can probably come up with 32 ways to dress up a pig, bunny, and fox. Can you?

Since Jude, Alex, and James are all obsessed with sea creatures and animals (remember their costume sneak peek?), these Sea wall graphics would make a fantastic addition to their rooms.

Visit the Wee Gallery website for more awesome kid-spiration!

Marimekko Kids

Watch out crewcuts, these images from Marimekko's kids collection are reaching the top of the cute chart. It's not unusual that we are caught wishing kids clothing came in adult sizes, but once we see those little bodies show off those fashionable threads, they're definitely making a spot on our wish list. Marimekko has always inspired us with their colorful patterns and bold decor, but now that we're seeing more of them in our every day lives, we're even more in love.

And with all the little boys in our H!L family, we're obsessing over their toy car illustrations. Who wouldn't want to trek that backpack to the first day of school next year!?

Visit their beautiful US website right here, and be sure to check out the kids collection here!

Modern Kids Photography and Baby William

We're all still giddy about the birth of Sabrina's third baby, William. She had favorite photographer Sarah Wert of Modern Kids Photography capture the exciting first moments as a family of five and they turned out just beautifully. James and Alex waited so patiently for the arrival of their baby brother, so this photo of them is just perfect. We love how Sabrina decorated the nursery with colorful wall decals from Gosh and Golly, too.

Sabrina was sure to spend some quality time with the twins before the baby was born. Reading some of their favorite books is a great way to relax together, and offered some photo-worthy moments for Sarah. They also got a little playful by blowing up balloons for the big arrival.

William is too precious! We can definitely see the resemblance to his brothers.

We are so happy for Sabrina and her family. Thanks to Modern Kids for the beautiful photographs!

Child's Own Custom Toys from Drawings

This image has spread like wildfire on Pinterest. There's something magical about a child's imagination, and the playfulness of a simple drawing. Child's Own Studio has been turning those imaginative doodles and drawings into real life toys since 2007 and we are completely in love.

The creator and master softie-maker Wendy takes time to incorporate every detail, from each finger and toe to every scribble of the nose.

This is the kind of gift that stays with a child for a lifetime, so we encourage parents, family friends, and all to invest in this one-of-a-kind toy. Currently Wendy is booked, but visit this list of other Softiemakers for your order. Congratulations to Child's Own on all the success!

Baby William

We have exciting news! On November 12th we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the Hello!Lucky family! William Henry Abdey was born at 10:36am weighing in at 7lbs 9oz. Proud parents Sabrina and Julian (and big brothers Alex and James!) are happy as can be, and we couldn't be more excited for boy #3!

Congratulations Sabrina and Julian! Love, the H!L team.

Featured: Pregnancy & Newborn

Hooray! Our Inchworm birth announcement is featured in the latest issue of Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine! With so many adorable announcements readily available, we're honored they chose our playful new card. The design was so popular we decided to transform it into a folded thank you note! It comes in single cards or packs of six so if you have a bunch of thank-you's to write, we've got you covered.

Babies First Birthday

Happy first birthday Soren! Here we have a few images of our friend baby Soren enjoying our delicious 1st Birthday letterpress card designed by Esther Aarts while rocking our original Darling Fawn Onesie. Soren has been a fan of Hello!Lucky since birth and is known to be quite a ladies man. His Uncle Stewey keeps him up to date on all our new designs, and this card turned out to be a real treat!

Sabrina's Weekend Snapshots

This past weekend my family and I took a trip down to Carmel Valley to spend some time on the beach. It's truly a remarkable place and quickly becoming a favorite family destination. Only a short drive from San Francisco, Carmel's roaring landscape and sweet sandy beach makes traveling with kids easy and fun. I snapped this photo of the lavender fields in full bloom on our way down.

The view is breathtaking and we had perfect weather, as usual in Carmel!

Taking our boys to the beach can be messy! Alex enjoyed a long bubble bath after a long day outside.

It was hard to leave such a lovely place. Clearly James felt the same way but we'll be back often.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Colorful Crocheted Playground

It's hard to imagine a place like this exists, especially because for most of us playgrounds were made up of wooden swings and plastic slides. Japanese artist Toshiko Horiuchi-MacAdam has created a larger-than-life crocheted playground at the Hakone Open Air Museum in Hakone, Japan, and just blew any other playground out of this world. The fiber artist describes her most treasured moments hearing the "undisguised delight of children exploring a new play space." It is truly remarkable that an artist would devote his/her time to create a space where people can interact and feel pure joy. Outstanding work!

Lucky Friday # 71, 1st Birthday

Hello all you lucky folks out there! This is the 71st edition of our Lucky Friday Giveaway.  Each Friday we feature one of our letterpress greeting cards. We’ll choose THREE LUCKY WINNERS to get a free card.  Post a comment by 12 p.m. PST the following Thursday, and we’ll announce the winners on the following Friday!

The winners from last week are (drum roll, please): Derek Rigby, Nicky, and Sierra Catherine! We’ll contact you next week to arrange sending your Hipster Party card.

Design: 1st Birthday Artist: Esther Aarts Inspiration: We had a little block about this one— our train of thought didn't have rails, but then we got on the ball and it ended up being a real bunny of a design. Who to send it to: We can think of some one, one for whom it's perfect, the one and only, the sweetest one of all! Ideas we scrapped in favor of this one: The text "One Is the Loneliest Number" didn't suit the occasion— not one bit. Favorite detail: Ooh, that's a tough one... Why letterpress: We can give you one good reason... it's one-derful.

Don’t forget to post your comment and tune in next week, same time, different stationery, to see if you’ve won!

New Kids Birthday Party Invitations

We have some exciting news to share with all of you! For years we've heard from our devoted fans and customers about how a variety of children's birthday party invitations would be the perfect addition to our collection. Well the time has come! Some of our favorite invitation designs are coming out of the archives, and even some brand new invitations are making their big debut.

Balloons (above)

You might remember Jude's first birthday party invitations (a whole year ago!) but now they are available just for you. Perfect for a group party or just one headlining guy/gal. This Big Top invitation sets the bar for a roarin' good time.

Alex and James' cardboard box party was such a hit, we couldn't resist adding their custom designed first Box Party invitations to the mix.

As for the boys' second birthday party (along with a whole march of kiddo's) we designed this stellar Color Block invite similar to the one created exclusively for their neon-inspired bash. Check out more photos on Apartment Therapy here!

All these designs can be customized for twins or even group parties, so give us a call for more information. Enjoy!

Pikku

When we spotted these silk screened cotton ribbons by Pikku on Parcel Post we stopped right in our tracks. Pikku has an entire collection of pillows, office accessories, ribbons, and wrapping paper! What a perfect coincidence it is that our custom birth announcements by Pikku go hand in hand with these accessories. We personalized our Mums birth announcement to match their lemony color scheme, and it's truly a match made from heaven.

Check out the entire Pikku shop here, and our Pikku birth announcements here!

Lucky Friday # 57, Peanut Baby Congratulations

Hello all you lucky folks out there! This is the 57th edition of our Lucky Friday Giveaway.  Each Friday we feature one of our letterpress greeting cards. We’ll choose THREE LUCKY WINNERS to get a free card.  Post a comment by 12 p.m. PST the following Thursday, and we’ll announce the winners on the following Friday!

The three winners from last week are (drum roll, please): CZ, Jana and Margaret! We’ll contact you next week to arrange sending your Inchworms card. Design: Peanut Artist: Eunice Moyle Inspiration: A certain little swaddled sweet pea. Who to send it to: A proud pachyderm parent of a precious little peanut. Works great for non-elephant expectant parents, too. Ideas we scrapped in favor of this one: We thought of a mouse cradling a little cheese baby, titled "Curd." Didn't have the same... je ne sais quoi. Favorite detail: Just noticed the tip of the elephant's trunk is heart-shaped. Why letterpress? Elephants, like letterpress, make a strong impression.

Don’t forget to post your comment and tune in next week, same time, different stationery, to see if you’ve won!
