Attention design enthusiasts! If you're in the bay area you should give this a gander. Our own Eunice Moyle will be at Rare Device doing collaborative drawings with Julia Rothman and other great illustrators! Here's some more info.
Daily Candy wedding pick!
Thanks Daily Candy for choosing us as one of their favorite San Francisco wedding vendors!!
Golden Gate Dinner Party
Did you see the incredible dinner party that Jordon threw under the Golden Gate Bridge?! There's even a how-to if you were so inspired....now we just need to figure out how to get on the guest list!

Jess Brown Love
We love, love, love Jess Brown's rag dolls (and are deeply envious of their fabulous outfits!)
Coveting this very bohemian little dress and linen jacket...
Each doll is handmade from muslin and cotton and bits of vintage or recycled fabrics, and every one is completely unique...how adorable are these circus girls?
Turns out that Jess Brown is from our neck of the woods, even! She lives in Petaluma, just a few hours north of San Francisco, and has, with her good friend, a little shop called Maude there. See more of her dolls here...
Sarah & Matt on Style Me Pretty
One of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, recently featured Sarah and Matt's 2007 wedding showcasing their vintage style and love of tall ships. We designed and letterpress printed their invites (above) and the couple embellished them using wax paper, baker's twine and a wax seal.
See the entire gallery here. All photos by Julie Mikos.
wallpaper cookies
As if living in San Francisco wasn't fabulous enough, the proximity to the Miette pastry shop makes the experience even more delicious! In addition to their beautiful cakes, cupcakes and confections, they've recently started creating cookies based on their adorable wallpaper.
Don't fret if you live outside of the bay area - Miette ships nationwide! In the bay area? Why not take a cake decorating class and make your own?
An array of accessories
More details from Eunice and Daniel's wedding! Eunice embellished her Steve Madden flats with vintage shoe clips found at the Alameda flea market, one of our favorite sources for vintage ephemera in the bay area. She also purchased woodland animal brooches from Poodle Breath for her bridesmaids.
San Francisco Wedding Fair
We're looking forward to the San Francisco Wedding Fair this Sunday, January 10 from 11 - 4 at Four Seasons Hotel. Let's face it: most bridal shows are a kind of lame. However, this one consistently attracts some quality vendors. If you're thinking of only hitting one of these events, it's the one to check out.
We'll be there exhibiting with partner Magnolia Photo Booth, an awesome photo booth company that just launched in the Bay Area. Magnolia will be demo-ing their booth, and we have some brand spanking new save the date designs that use the photos & photo booth pics! Magnolia keeps a booth at our studio at 977 Howard Street (between 5th and 6th), so you can drop by use it for free to make awesome save the dates, thank you cards & more (just call ahead, as it's sometimes out on loan).
A few vendors to definitely check out at the show:
Cakes & Sweets
Calligraphy
Florists
Rentals
Classic Party Rentals Hartmann Studios
Event Designers
Check out the San Francisco Wedding Fair website for a full list of exhibitors. Enjoy!
Healdsburg wedding
Once Wed posted this gorgeous real wedding yesterday! The wedding took place at Barn Diva in Healdsberg - such a lovely destination!
The couple, Lisah and Jeremy, came to us for their wedding invitations, a variation on our Heartland design. It's so lovely to see how everything came together!
See all the details here. Congratulations, Lisah and Jeremy!

Pretty palette: Peach, pink, cream & gold
The Alameda flea market this past weekend did not disappoint - one of our favorite finds was this table full of beautiful prize ribbons and goodies.
We fell in love with the palette - how pretty would this be for a wedding, and aren't those bon bon bags perfect inspiration for pretty favors?
Adi Nevo photographs
We're just loving this series of baby photos by amazingly talented photographer (and frequent H!L collaborator) Adi Nevo.
She just captured this baby's personality to a T! Adi's also behind the couples portraits shown in our Vintage Christmas and Vintage Doves holiday cards. Such a talented gal! Check out her blog here.
Real wedding: Abby & Ross
Congrats to Abby and Ross, who got married last month at Limn Gallery, a beautiful modern space in San Francisco!
It all began with this custom save the date design that we created for the couple, combining a nod to the fact that the space is a functioning art gallery, and a little bit of wit and whimsy!
Limn provided a chic, minimal backdrop for the reception. The event was catered by Jane Hammond Events.
Emily Dreblow of Soulflower Floral Design created these lovely sculptural boutonnieres, as well as the succulent centerpieces.
We revived the save the date design in a welcome sign carved by Because We Can...and a hand drawn seating chart.
The ceremony was held in gallery's outdoor courtyard.
The bride wore this gorgeous beaded shrug, custom made by seamstress Glenda Pongiglione.
The programs coordinated with their invitations (they chose the Lunaria invitation design in espresso and apple).
Promptly after the ceremony, they left for an amazing honeymoon in Greece (we're so jealous!!). Congratulations, Abby & Ross!!

The Alameda Flea is back on!
The flea is back on, according to the official website! Hurray!!
We're seriously tempted to brave the Bay Bridge closure and hoof it out there for fear that this may be the last. Tip for what it's worth: last time the bridge was closed, we found that the San Mateo bridge got us there quickly in the morning. Returning, the Richmond bridge was a nightmare so we doubled back and took the San Mateo bridge back to the city -- much better! Hope to see you there!

Obama!
We heard a rumor this morning that our commander-in-chief was in town, growing more suspicious when our street was blocked off and the 5-0 started arriving in drones (above). Upon further investigation (i.e. batting eyelashes at the local police) and noticing sharpshooters (below) on the highest balcony on SoMa, we discovered the truth....Mr. President himself was going to pass right by our studio!!
What's a handful of creative types to do?! Well, fashion some speech bubble signs to express our excitement, of course!
Waiting on the edge of our seat (or fifteen minutes later)...
HE DRIVES BY!! AND WAVES!!
Yea!
Registry: Heath Ceramics
One of the many wonderful things about being in the Bay Area is the proximity to Heath Ceramics. Their gorgeous line of pottery, tile and ceramics has been around since the mid-40's and everything is handmade in their Sausalito studio. We love their simple designs, stunning color and dependable quality. If you're not lucky enough to visit their Sausalito Factory store, or Los Angeles boutique, everything is available online. What an amazing place to register at for your upcoming wedding!
And how cute is their kids set?! Perfect for any upcoming baby showers or little ones on the way!
Lisa Feldman Design
One of our very favorite Bay Area event planners, Lisa Feldman, just launched her new website! Check it out - it is gorgeous!
Lisa has a way of turning every event she works on into a joyful, personalized occasion. Some of the most memorable weddings we've designed paper for are showcased on the site, including Dana & Julie's - they were married last year in Hualaiai, Hawai.
We collaborated with Lisa to create the invitations and wedding stationery details, including umbrella wraps...
Chopstick holder place cards for the rehearsal dinner (calligraphy by Papineau Calligraphy)...
...and wedding favors. As you know, all the thoughtful details are what makes a wedding special - Lisa is all about these!
Orlee & David's wedding was another wonderful event Lisa designed...
The wedding invitation suite was inspired by organic, Art Nouveau floral patterns.
One of our favorite details from the wedding - a table where guests could read love letters written between the bride and the groom, and write their own!
Lisa is also the Bay Area's go-to event designers for Bar and Bat Mitzvah's. This gorgeous reception at the St. Regis featured flowers by Kathleen Deery Design. We created the invitations, as well as personalized menu cards...
...and seating cards (calligraphy by Papineau Calligraphy).
And this is just the beginning! Find more inspiration on Lisa's website.
The site design is by the talented Deb Wagner of dstripe. Hello!Lucky designed the logo, Kenneth Sloan edited gorgeous photos, and Curt Sanburn edited the copy.
Congratulations, Lisa!
August Flea & Tinsel Trading
This weekend's flea was a little overcast, but we still managed to spot some great stuff. Our favorite flea newcomer hands-down was Tinsel Trading -- we've always coveted their shop in New York, so it was so great to have them come to us!!
These beautiful fabric flower parts are perfect for making corsages and hair clips...
...and these leaves and lily-of-the-valley would be so sweet for bouttonnieres! Can't wait to start crafting!
You can also shop Tinsel Trading online. Those pretty pink leaves are available right here.
General Bead
We paid a visit to General Bead yesterday -- for those of you not in the know, it's a San Francisco institution and one of the best bead resources out there!
We love their vintage glass beads, especially!
You can literally find any kind of bead here - they're all arranged by color. So fabulous!
Love these pretty seed beads in hundreds of colors!
And these faceted beauties!
And the best part - the whole place is decked out in wacky 1970's fabric and ephemera - classic San Francisco!
Beadazzled calculators...
Ode to Swarovski crystals!
Definitely check it out for your next crafting project - visit the stores in San Francisco or San Diego or shop online.

Renegade Craft Fair
We didn't know where to look first at this weekend's Renegade Craft Fair - there were so many amazing vendors this year! One of our favorite was illustrator Kate Sutton's cuckoo clocks (above)...so cute alongside her Forest Expedition print, perhaps? We were also fans of her ridiculously adorable gingerbread men.
We also were smitten with the lovely terrariums (above) made by Meg from Mateo Illasco (available at Rare Device), as well as the letterpress and goccoed prints (below) from Cindy Tomcyzk.
Fabulous graphic posters and prints from Frank Chimero and My Associate Cornelius.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth! See you next year!
