Felted, Crocheted Animals

Prepare yourself for some intense cuteness... we thought we'd indulge ourselves a little for Valentine's Day. We have a nostalgic weakness for crocheted stuffed animals. But then, the felted ones are a double-whammy of adorability (pardon the new word.)

Oh heavens! So cute! We have to share our Beaver Love for Valentine's Day.

A chenile duckie! We can't decide which is our favorite.  But how great are these for a baby shower, or for a new arrival?

MillieFern on Etsy made these— they are some of the best we've seen.  And of course, I bet you might find or commission a sock monkey.

Jude Turns 1!!

Jude-is-1yr-2

Eunice's little boy, Jude, is turning 1! Check out these super cute invitations she designed for his circus themed party...

Jude-is-1yr-1

Stay tuned for photos of the party itself!  There are rumors of clown noses and a ring of (felt) fire for the babies to crawl through - feats of daring, ahoy!

Yarn wrapped Monograms

diymonograms

If you are looking for inexpensive baby or wedding decor project, look no further than this yarn wrapped monogram from Evie S. - such a cute idea! We can easily see a couple of these spelling out a baby's name or with an ampersand as a fun wedding element...the possibilities are endless! This project reminds us of our yarn wrapped bottles from our new book, Handmade Weddings!

Silk Tree Branch Mobiles by Moon-Lily Silk

Some of us have been traveling here at Hello!Lucky and we're a little confused about what season it is! We thought these delicate silk tree mobiles by Moon-Lily Silk were a refreshing way to look back while marching ever onward toward spring...was it? Picture-22

Brought to mind our Autumn Leaves design.

And these brought to mind EIEIO's Lunaria design.  Lovely, modern and nature-inspired.

And of course, Cherry Blossom.

Such lovely decorations for seasonally inspired weddings!

And, they might look equally beautiful in a nursery, no? (A child's nursery, that is, not an arboreal one where they might get a little lost.)

Thanks so much, Jan, for sharing!

Oh, Vintage Fisher Price, We Heart You!

SL_doggie

We grew up in the 70's and 80's, so Fisher Price holds a particular place in our collective hearts, but, seriously, how could you not love these classic toys?  The aesthetic is so very, very cool...

And this camera?  Seriously.

chatterphone

Fisher Price has brought back a few of their vintage toys, such as the classic Chatter Telephone (though it amuses us to think that the average child would be utterly mystified by this phone - rotary dial? Wha??) and the Record Player and let's not forget The Corn Popper Push Toy! We wish they would bring back more!

Zulily Promotional

Have you heard of Zulily? Picture-37

Zulily is a fab, beautifully curated listing of brands that specialize in kids and moms, be it clothing, decor, ephemera or stationery of course!

They have weekly and daily coupons and promos.  It's simple and painless to join the list (we love avoiding spam, too)— just provide your name and e-mail and you're set. They even have some deals for non-moms... and it's good inspiration for mom-wannabes.

Hello!Lucky has a current promo, through 11/9/2010, that's good for our birth announcements and great for holiday cards too.

Peruse the cuteness!

Some of our favorite stores for kids' stuff are their favorites too. They represent blabla, HABA, Zid Zid, Urban Smalls, Kiwi Industries and many more!

Oh! Tiny Owl Sweater!

DIY Halloween Costumes

Unicorn&leprachaun Happy Monday after Halloween, all!  We had quite the DIY extravaganza, with costumes inspired by Eunice & Sabrina's babies!  Eunice crafted a unicorn head, with hubby Daniel as a leprechaun and their son as a pot of gold, and a fabulous rainbow banner.

Halloween_pot-o-gold

The  pot o' gold look was achieved with a gold lamé skull cap adorned with chocolate coin wrappers, and a plastic cauldron dissected and attached to a baby bjorn (with duct tape!).

Banana_tree&monkeys

With new twins, Sabrina didn't have time to DIY all the costumes, just her own - a banana tree!

Bannana_tree&monkey_Halloween

The leaves were crafted with felt, using wire hangers for structure and attached to a fez-like hat made of  fabric-covered cardboard.  Tricky?  Yes. But definitely a treat! Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween!
