The stunning calligraphy gracing the cover of the current Martha Stewart Weddings was completed by Michele Papineau, one of our favorite calligraphers.
In addition to the favor crackers (above), Michele also wrote out the evenings menu on colorful chalkboards that were hung inside the tent.

We've mentioned Because We Can before, but the pieces that they created for Eunice and Daniel's wedding are worth mentioning again! In addition to the prop mustaches and word bubbles used for the photo booth, they also created the amazing stage that the ceremony was performed on. Inspired by Joel Dewberry's Woodland Damask pattern (also used on the invitations!), the stage was made of all sustainable wood or recycled fiber with water-based glue and finished with eco-friendly paint, hand painted by the couple and their friends (read more about the process here).
Additionally, Because We Can also created an array of shadow puppets for guests to carry during the parade to the ceremony site. They even created a white unicorn for Daniel (above)!

Since we're stationers, paper played a big role in designing Eunice & Daniel's wedding. The first piece of inspiration was Rob Ryan, the whimsical London-based paper artist. Eunice illustrated this letterpress save-the-date poster featuring silhouettes of her and Daniel, and their two dogs Indie and Simon, along with a save-the-date for their London reception.
We used the silhouettes again to create a DIY cake topper, with the silhouettes laser cut out of balsa wood by our pals at Publique Living, and embellished with crepe paper flowers.
The wedding invitations were a variation Woodland Damask wedding invitation, created in collaboration with pattern designer Joel Dewberry inspired by his Deer Valley collection. The wedding invitations and save the dates were letterpress printed, while the details booklets and programs were digitally printed.
We used the pattern to create these program paddle fans, which doubled to keep guests cool during the ceremony...
...as well as these glassine confetti pouches, a tribute to the Beatle's All You Need is Love, Eunice & Daniel's exit song.

We are SO excited we are to FINALLY be sharing photos from Eunice's wedding! Eunice, as many of you know, is our co-founder and Creative Director and her wedding last May 9 was one of the most unbelievable days ever!
Eunice looked stunning in a dress of her own design, hand sewn by multi-talented Hello!Lucky London office head Iain Harris Bartlett, with makeup by Meaganne McCandess and headband by pal Jennifer Behr (available right here!).
Tons of our creative friends helped out with the details, including Tricia Roush (top left) of House of Nines Design. Magnolia Photo Booth was one of the highlights - guests had a blast taking mugs with all kinds of hilarious props! Bottom row, Eunice and Sabrina celebrating the best day ever, and bridesmaid Erin Murphy trying on a tissue paper crown.
A high point was a Tim Walker-inspired parade featuring animal shadow puppets designed by Eunice, fabricated Jillian and Toast at Because We Can, and then hand-painted!

Valentine's Day isn't just for couples anymore! We adore this perfectly pink dessert buffet by design all-star, Amy Atlas. It's just too cute for words! Plus, we love the idea of hosting a Valentine's party--uniting our coupled friends with our single friends for a celebration of love in its purest form: dessert.
We've blogged about Rob Ryan before, but we're doing it again because, well, we can't help it! The piece below is one of our favorites and reminds us of papel picados, traditional folk art and design from Mexico. We're bummed that it's currently sold out, but we're feeling a little inspired for our own DIY Valentine's Day ambitions.

We're looking forward to the San Francisco Wedding Fair this Sunday, January 10 from 11 - 4 at Four Seasons Hotel. Let's face it: most bridal shows are a kind of lame. However, this one consistently attracts some quality vendors. If you're thinking of only hitting one of these events, it's the one to check out.
We'll be there exhibiting with partner Magnolia Photo Booth, an awesome photo booth company that just launched in the Bay Area. Magnolia will be demo-ing their booth, and we have some brand spanking new save the date designs that use the photos & photo booth pics! Magnolia keeps a booth at our studio at 977 Howard Street (between 5th and 6th), so you can drop by use it for free to make awesome save the dates, thank you cards & more (just call ahead, as it's sometimes out on loan).

Thanks to amazing photographer John Lee of John Lee Pictures for sharing these hilarious outtakes from our 7x7 photoshoot. While the editors chose a rather staid photo for the magazine, they must have had to work hard to pick these out among the majority, which involved stuffing ourselves with cupcakes, blowing up balloons, and general silliness! It was so much fun!
I feel sorry for those poor little cupcakes!!

We just completed a series of posters for a fantastic 50th birthday party! The amazingly creative organizers produced an entire musical revue all about Bob, the birthday boy. Apparently, the whole thing was a total hoot!
Fork & Spoon Productions, the event designers, asked us to design 8 ft x 10 ft posters that incorporate a few of Bob's black and white childhood photos. We edited the photos and designed the posters to look like vintage movie or musical broadsides, and gave each one a show-stopping title. This one's based on a B-movie poster (obviously!).
This one's loosely inspired by the classic Lassie movie poster (the bunny's name really is Floppy!).

Inspired by Tommy (The Who's classic rock musical).
For this one, we were thinking Bull Durham, For the Love of the Game, etc. The posters were hung around the party tent, and we also designed a classic style playbill for guests. So much fun!

Last month, we were in New York for a couple of weeks shoot our new DIY wedding book with co-author and stylist Shana Faust and photographer Joseph De Leo. It was an amazing and overwhelming experience, and has largely been responsible for the slow-down in blog posts!!
We spent a full 2 weeks crafting at Aloft Studio in mid-town - if you're wondering how much crafting goes into filling a book, look above! (Thanks to Kim and John for letting us turn the place upside down!)
We were fortunate to have helpers - H!L's intrepid Chun Yee O'Neill and Tricia Roush of House of Nines Design - who crafted along side us every day!
Shana brought tons of beautiful props for styling...
And we all brought piles and piles of crafting materials, like these pretty ribbons from Mokuba Ribbon, which we'd collected over the past year. Believe us, great crafting starts with great materials!
It was an incredible experience! Can't wait to share the finished book with everyone!

We're seriously tempted to brave the Bay Bridge closure and hoof it out there for fear that this may be the last. Tip for what it's worth: last time the bridge was closed, we found that the San Mateo bridge got us there quickly in the morning. Returning, the Richmond bridge was a nightmare so we doubled back and took the San Mateo bridge back to the city -- much better! Hope to see you there!
