One of our favorite illustrators, Esther Aarts, is currently exhibiting at the Arnhem Museum of Modern Arts in the Netherlands. She was sweet enough to send us a photo of the exhibition, featuring her Season's Salutations and Retro Christmas greeting cards! Congrats Esther!

Here's wishing you a fun Halloween!
Letterpress Cookies!
Speaking of wood type, how sweet(!) are these letterpress printed cookies?! They'd be so cute for a kid's birthday party! Just be sure to clean the blocks thoroughly before stamping!

Lovely Letterpress Leftovers
Spotted these grand assemblage pieces by Eric Ulrich on Junkculture.
As letterpress afficionados, though, we must make a disclaimer: if you happen upon a set of wood block type, make sure it's incomplete and thoroughly dinged up before you re-purpose it. Good, complete sets of fonts are hard to come by. Consult with a pro. : ) (These look pretty well worn; the blog says Eric salvaged the type from a printing company in Iowa.)
Love the textures and colors! Makes us feel at home.

Alphabet Prints
These new letterpressed alphabet prints from designer Jessica Hische would make a great addition to a baby's room or as a gift for a newly married couple. See them all here.
Happy Father's Day!
Stellar results with vintage tools
Our friends over at Dependable Letterpress recently created this amazing perpetual calendar as a promotional piece for their fantastic print shop. With clever sayings like "what goes around comes around" and "you can achieve stellar results with vintage tools" this piece shows off the beauty of letterpress while also keeping the days of the week straight until 2036! Want your own? A limited number are available on their etsy site here.
Sarah & Matt on Style Me Pretty
One of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, recently featured Sarah and Matt's 2007 wedding showcasing their vintage style and love of tall ships. We designed and letterpress printed their invites (above) and the couple embellished them using wax paper, baker's twine and a wax seal.

National Stationery Show: Best of the best, part 3
Rounding out our favorites from NSS is this cheeky lightbulb from Fugu Fugu Press. We were also smitten with the clever illustrations from The Great Lakes:
Last but not least, fun birthday wishes from Two Trick Pony:
If you missed our earlier round up of favorites, you can find them here and here.
National Stationery Show: Best of the best, part 2
Continuing with our favorite items from NSS, the above card from A. Favorite really appeals to our inner design geek, while this print (below) from Old School Stationers inspires us to turn off the computer and head straight for the kitchen!
Ink and Wit cards and tea towels feature Tara's adorable animal illustrations.
Along the same theme, we are coveting these animals from Enormous Champion something fierce!
National Stationery Show: Best of the best
Even though Rifle Paper Co is all over the blog-o-sphere, we couldn't resist posting about their debut at NSS. Adorable illustrations and hand lettering adorn cards, prints, stationery, and the super covet-able recipe box (above), complete with recipe cards, below (it will be available on their website soon).
We also loved the hilarious cards from our friends at Blue Barnhouse...
...and the beautiful fabric wraps (for wrapping gifts!) from Chewing the Cud.
Stay tuned for more of our favorites!
National Stationery Show: Our friends & neighbors
At this years National Stationery Show, we were honored and excited to participate in a booth community with three of our favorite designers - Egg Press, Hammerpress and EIEIO. Besides the camaraderie, treats and gossip, their work was incredibly inspiring! We especially loved the bus thank you card (above), gift wrap and calender (below) from Egg Press.
Fellow letterpress printers Hammerpress had some fantastic new journals, calenders and cards:
EIEIO had some great new wrapping paper, but unfortunately, we don't have any photos! Check it out here.
National Stationery Show!
We're back from New York! The National Stationery Show was a whirlwind of new and old friends, fellow designers, bloggers and buyers from our favorite stores around the country, not to mention some incredible paper products! There was so much inspiring work from new designers and those who have been in the business for years. For our own booth, we were thrilled to introduce our new designs from Julia Rothman (above), Esther Aarts and yours truly.
We re-purposed the pom poms from Eunice and Daniel's wedding - they were a big hit!
We also got a chance to preview the cover of our new book, Handmade Weddings, from Chronicle Books. The book comes out this fall, and is available for pre-order here.
We added some decor with pink peonies and vintage bottles from the Brooklyn Flea (and candy for buyers and booth-workers!).
sneak peek: Julia Rothman!
Julia's back! We've been conspiring with her on a line of kids birthday cards, featuring gentle giants and magnificent mermaids!
Riveting robots!
and unearthly unicorns!
These will be available for sale on our website soon.

sneak peek: Esther Aarts!
Esther Aarts is an amazing Dutch illustrator who has done work for t-shirts, magazines, advertising and now...greeting cards! We recently collaborated with Esther on a couple cards for our Spring release and couldn't be happier with the results. For example, who doesn't love anthropomorphic beer steins cheers-ings themselves?! Or a cheerful Oompah band wishing you a happy birthday?!
See more of Esther's work here and here. These will be available for sale on our website soon.
