Oh, Vintage Fisher Price, We Heart You!

SL_doggie

We grew up in the 70's and 80's, so Fisher Price holds a particular place in our collective hearts, but, seriously, how could you not love these classic toys?  The aesthetic is so very, very cool...

And this camera?  Seriously.

chatterphone

Fisher Price has brought back a few of their vintage toys, such as the classic Chatter Telephone (though it amuses us to think that the average child would be utterly mystified by this phone - rotary dial? Wha??) and the Record Player and let's not forget The Corn Popper Push Toy! We wish they would bring back more!

Zulily Promotional

Have you heard of Zulily? Picture-37

Zulily is a fab, beautifully curated listing of brands that specialize in kids and moms, be it clothing, decor, ephemera or stationery of course!

They have weekly and daily coupons and promos.  It's simple and painless to join the list (we love avoiding spam, too)— just provide your name and e-mail and you're set. They even have some deals for non-moms... and it's good inspiration for mom-wannabes.

Hello!Lucky has a current promo, through 11/9/2010, that's good for our birth announcements and great for holiday cards too.

Picture-40

Peruse the cuteness!

Some of our favorite stores for kids' stuff are their favorites too. They represent blabla, HABA, Zid Zid, Urban Smalls, Kiwi Industries and many more!

Oh! Tiny Owl Sweater!

We love to knit here at Hello!Lucky, and we especially love to knit tiny adorable sweaters for little people (ah! the (semi)instant gratification...), so when we saw this adorable sweater pattern byKathrin we were, ahem, a wee bit excited!

This little moustache pull is pretty darned cute too!  The patterns are available on her Etsy shop...and she has a cute and inspiringblog too!

Ah! How cool is this shop?  It's called Serendipity and is, bien sûr, in Paris...We found it via Olivelse, a cute little shop (and blog!) that has tempted us many a time.  They make these awesome stuffed ukeleles...

More of our Favorite things... Paper and Porcelain!

Just had to share these with you!

host

Aside from writing letters, we'd say having folks over for coffee or tea is one of the best ways to keep in touch.

And how better to host a little get-together than with these beautiful handmade cups and saucers by Meredith Host? She gets some of her inspiration for design from paper patterns.

Just lovely!

Picture 24

We've had our eyes open for gifts, since it's getting on toward that season.  We ran into Meredith's work on the Clay Studio website. The Clay Studio is a fab non-profit organization, studio, and artist residency for ceramic artists in Philadelphia. Had to give them a shout-out because they do great work, and have gorgeous handmade goodies.

Isn't this serving dish delish?

And this mug to match, found on Etsy. Thanks, Meredith!

Fluffy, Tulle Goodness!

ouma_dress1 What girl doesn't fantasize about floating about in a cloud of tulle?  Ouma creates these delicate concoctions that would make even the most, ahem, possibly not-so-graceful of us, feel like a a picture of grace and ballerina-like elegance...

Beautiful Enameled Jewelry by Jill Baker Gower

bakergower3 Jill Baker Gower's wallpaper patterned enameled earrings are exquisite!  We think they'd make perfect bridesmaids' gifts to coordinate with our Antoinette stationery design.  Such an elegant mixture of modern design and vintage patterns.

bakergower2

And how about this gorgeous enamel and silver pendant?  Jill teaches Metalsmithing at Rowan University in New Jersey, and she does beautiful work, including some very simple and elegant bridal commissions.

Splendid silver rings to match!  You can see more of Jill's work, including her fascinating sculptural jewelry here.

The Exquisite Book Signing Party!

Last night we attended a book signing party for The Exquisite Book, a project headed by  the lovely Julia Rothman. We were honored to be asked to participate in the book (see Eunice's contribution here). The signing took place at the ever fabulous Rare Device.

Petit Pan

petitpan3 On a recent trip to Paris (oh, how we love thee!), we discovered Petit Pan - a charming little shop filled with all kinds of marvelous things...

petitpan2

Like this lil' rabbit, that came in his own "petite maison" (a cardboard box with holes cut out for his ears - one has to let the ears breathe, clearly!)

petitpan1

The aesthetic is heavily inspired by Chinese folk art and popular culture (no one does that particular shade of hot pink quite so well) but with that je ne sais quoi that is so very French...

Love these fabulous kites...

Love this children's chair SO MUCH...

beads

In addition, they have a shop dedicated entirely to beads, baubles, ribbons, and fabrics and offer what are, no doubt, fabulous classes in drawing, textiles and kite-making, among others.

If you ever find yourself in Paris, you must visit - it is a truly magical little place.  You can order from them online here, or visit them in Paris here: 39 (the haberdashery) and 76 (the shop), Rue François Miron.
