Awesome and Fierce! We came across London-based illustrator Paul Thurlby's alphabet prints on Ohdeedoh and were totally smitten by the hilarious illustrations...

Hilary Lang, Nursery Cuteness and more...

Nursery We were so thrilled to spot our baby's first year journal and photo album making an appearance in this adorable nursery!

Nursery

The nursery belongs Phoebe, the daughter of the very talented Hilary Lang.  How cool is this vintage mobile?

nursery

Love the cross stitch and these teeny (and very comfy looking) booties!

Rabbit in Overalls

Aside from having a fabulous nursery, Hilary Lang makes many, many, super cute things - such as this hilarious overall-wearin' rabbit...

Turtle-y times

The patterns for hand-sewn projects such as this charming little turtle are available in her shop...

Animals on Wheels

Um, hilarious.

Dollies

You can also see pictures of her many projects here...

Pretty Pictures

Double BSS

We love all the different, totally cool design aesthetics...so inspiring! (not to mention that these gorgeous hand-silkscreened posters will only set you back $20-$30!) Love, love, love them!

Found object seating cards

Budgie pin seating cards We've love the idea of eclectic collections of objects/favors that double as seating cards, like these vintage aluminum parakeet pins...

Milinery flower seating cards

Or these vintage millinery flower seating cards (which could be transformed into stick pins for your guests by adding pin backings).

These goodies are from Tinsel Trading, but Etsy and ebay are also great online resources!

To make the strips, we just printed guest's names on text weight paper using an inkjet printer, and rubber stamped the table assignment on the reverse. Simple!

Groovin' on Alexander Girard

Alphabet Blocks A recent fixation on this super cool set of alphabet blocks originally designed for the San Francisco MOMA has lead to a mini-obsession with Alexander Girard, famed designer for Herman Miller and collaborator of Charles and Ray Eames (and, of course, muse to our most favorite boy wonder, Jonathan Adler)...

Blocks - Sun

Neuhart Dolls

We love these hand-made dolls, designed exclusively for House Industries by Marilyn Neuhart.  They are based on dolls she sewed for the opening of Girard's Textiles & Objects Shop in New York City in 1961.  How hilarious is that lion?  We adore the folk art inspired motifs...

Neuhart Dolls

Memory Game

A 72-piece wood memory game, full of delightful illustrations...

Nativity Figurines

Alexander Girard amassed a huge collection of nativities, most of which he spent the last years of his life curating for his wing at the International Museum of Folk Art in Santa Fe (which is absolutely amazing!). This set is based on an original Girard illustration that hangs in his son's house.

Fonts!

House Industries also has a series of great Girard fonts (Girard inspired wedding invitations or birth announcements perhaps?!).

Flor Carpet - Animals

Flor Carpet - Sun

His work is available in all sorts of places - including these stylie carpet tiles from Flor..

Figurines

These pillows, figurines and other items are available through maXimo — the company that distributes and manages licenses for the work of Alexander Girard.

Kevin Waldron's Fantabulous Illustrations

Bologna We just came across Kevin Waldron's absolutely wonderful illustrations via the equally wonderful blog Stickers and Stuff.

How fantastic is this lion with his snazzy pipe, turtleneck and hair nerdily combed to the side?  Hilarious!

Real wedding: Hollin + Eric

We are loving Hollin and Eric's beautiful wedding, full of sweet details and DIY elements. Hollin, along with some helpful friends and family, created most of the decorations, and it all turned out so vintage chic! 001.jpg

Thanks to the very talented Ben Blood for sharing his gorgeous photos of their wedding at Treehouse Point in Issaquah, Washington. Tree-filled and moss-covered, Treehouse Point offers two incredible treehouses for lodging by master treehouse builder Pete Nelson who, along with his wife Judy, host private events and overnight retreats. So natural and ethereal!

The groomsmen donned tweed and wore handmade mismatching boutineers and ties.

013.jpg

Hollin's vintage inspired dress was made by Portland designer Holly Stalder, who even gave Hollin extra fabric for her to make the flower on her veil! So lovely.

005.jpg

Hollin and her bridesmaids made their own headpieces...just gorgeous!

006.jpg

The bride's sister and maid of honor Keiko, hand drew and screen printed coffee and tea bags as favors for the guests.

Hollin's mom made each of the bridesmaid's dresses. We love the fabric and individual sash detailing.

Brand new Kate Spade!

kate0.jpg Everyone's talking about it, but we simply can't help but join in the collective swooning over the new Kate Spade collection! While the clothes are stunning on their own, we just love the bold use of color and retro styling captured in these photos.

Take a look at the whole collection here!

Real wedding: Georgina 'High Tea' Worthington

Worthington wedding invitation Earlier this year we were delighted to print the invitation suite for the owner of one of our favourite UK stockists, High Tea of Highgate (the fact that this is a delightful tea shop in a lovely part of London and that Georgina is a fabulous cook is entirely co-incidental!)

Worthington RSVP card

Georgina's wedding to Riccardo Carrelli took place in the magical setting of Burgh Island, an Art Deco hotel situated just off the coat of Devon and the setting for several Agatha Christie films.  Our letterpress suite printed over images of the island set the mood for Georgina's 1920's inspired celebrations and the whole event was beautifully captured  by the photographer Joanna Wilkinson

Georgina's fantastic dress was designed by Alice Temperley and, we are assured, was just perfect for doing the Charleston in!

We just love the detail of these wedding favours a uniquely British delicacy - seaside rock from The Rock People. The couple's name runs right through it!

Congratulations, Georgina and Riccardo!

Hatch Show Print Wine We recently picked up a bottle of this Cabernet Sauvignon by Three Thieves, inspired (and labels designed by) by Brad Vetter at the legendary letterpress studio Hatch Show Print.

Such gorgeous packaging, and mighty tasty, too! We got ours at Canyon Market in San Francisco, whose logo is incidentally designed by another favorite illustrator, Grady McFerrin.

Spruce Wedding Showcase

Spruce Wedding Showcase 4 Kathleen Deery Flowers

We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Annena & Co and Lisa Lefkowitz Photography on an event design showcase at Spruce. If you haven't checked this restaurant out, definitely stop by - the food is great and the ambiance, designed by Stephen Brady of Williams Sonoma Home, is very 1930's executive lounge -- lots of rich tones and leather!

Annena Sorenson of Annena & Company worked with Kathleen Deery (one of our favorite floral designers!) and Classic Party Rentals to create rooms with different themes. The Wedding themed room is above.
