Since we're drooling over the new Claus Porto collection, we figured it was only fair to pay homage to the original designs, captured beautifully in this photo from Cologne & Cotton (you can also see all Claus Porto products here).
We also found this gorgeous soap set from a Spanish soap maker, Suavidad, at ALL-POP, a delightful online shop specializing in imported pop culture emphemra, tchotchkes and knick knacks - we love their "Good Luck" section!
Claus Porto soap packaging has always been divine, but we were blown away by the new Fantasia and Classico collections. This line extends beyond the vibrant art deco vibe of the original line to delicate designs with a more eclectic feel.
Every detail of the packaging design is so beautiful and inspiring! And, needless to say, they would make amazing gifts or favors!
As an avid crafters, collectors of inspirational materials and fans the Japanese aesthetic, we could barely contain our glee when we spotted this new book by Naomi Ito, a Japanese textile designer on Purl Soho's (one of our all time favorite fabric and knitting shops) blog. Her new collection is absolutely gorgeous, and we love the simple, elegant silhouettes and delicate details in the patterns in this book. The book features clothing for women and girls and accessories too..
Since we're always looking for great wedding details here at H!L, these would make adorable flower girl dresses - and simple to make! None of the patterns in the book have zippers, a few of the patterns have hook and eye closures or buttons. Purl Soho also has a helpful guide to working with Japanese patterns.
And these purses would be fabulous bridesmaids' gifts...
And we just love the cool little tucks on these...
We popped in to say "hi" to the lovely girls at Hide All's lovely Tower Bridge boutique (and to make a delivery of our gift wrap and cards!). They showed us new Orla Kiely catalogue, which we nearly died over - the Fall collection is amazing, and we are eagerly waiting for it to be added to the website (in the meantime, shop the summer sale)! In a fit of passion, we found ourselves leaving with this lovely new Fall bag...

Hello!Lucky designed programs (and wedding day stationery) with a seashell motif, which Morgan anchored elegantly with starfish. The ceremony aisle and trellis were beautifully decorated with white roses and petals by Edward Bellingeri Design (Note: his website is under construction). The wedding took place at the Ritz Carleton Half Moon Bay.
The bride and groom looked stunning and happy!
Morgan created a glamorous reception, with dramatic lighting design by Got Light? and a delicious chocolate cake with raspberry filling by Susan of Elegant Cheesecakes.
It was a weekend-long affair (the couple hails from New York City), and the ocean theme was carried throughout, including the weekend rehearsal dinner.

Oh my goodness, the Paul Smith furniture stop on Abermarle Street in London is to die for! We drooled over this photo of a young Angelica Houston by iconic Vogue fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri - see more from the exhibition here. The back room, pictured above, is especially tempting - chock full of one-of-a-kind vintage finds!

We were thrilled to meet the lovely Katie Reynolds, beautician and founder of the Powderpuff Girls, last week. With their retro-chic pink outfits and impeccable beauty know-how, these girls are a must-have for any stylish party, including hen nights/bridal showers. They offer a full range of on-site services, including mani-pedis, make-up and hair styling and massage. Seriously, ladies, there is no excuse for not looking your gosh-darned best, and the Powderpuff Girls make it simple!
We celebrated the launch of our UK website this week with a smashing meet-n-greet with top UK editors at the luxurious Mayfair Suites. The launch came just in time for the current issue of Cosmopolitan Bride, which features neutral-tone versions of Antoinette (a slight variation on the one shown on our website), L'Oiseau, and Enchanted Garden letterpress wedding invitations, as well as our new Calla Lily wedding invitation. Stay tuned for big improvements to both sites in the coming months!
We're thrilled to announce a new wedding inspiration board area of our website, where you can browse through pretty, creative ideas for coordinating all the design elements of your wedding.
The boards cover a wide variety of themes and were created by the lovely and inspiring Kathryn of Snippet & Ink; they (of course!) feature our letterpress wedding invitations and paper. Last weekend we participated in the first annual San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair at Fort Mason. Not knowing what to expect, we were blown away by the energy and excitement at the event! There were too many vendors to list all our favorites, but here's a start:

We originally met Julia Rothman at the National Stationery Show last year, and have been huge fans of her work ever since. Her first San Francisco show opened last week at Rare Device. The theme of the show is Home, and Julia's pieces illustrate that it's not the space itself, but the items in the space that make one feel at home. For those of us who move a lot, it's easy to relate. Some of my favorite pieces were the pile of chairs and the polka dot bikini. Julia also made incredibly detailed three dimensional houses for the front window display. If you are in the Bay Area, I recommend checking out the show - it's really inspiring. Rare Device is also a fantastic store with one of the best curated selections in San Francisco (they carry our cards too!). The show is open until August 1st.

Hands down, the best part of our neighborhood in London is Borough Market, London's mecca for organic and gourmet foods and produce. We stopped by there for lunch today and had some gorgeous cheese sandwiches and hand-dripped coffee from Monmouth Coffee Company.
The market is also a feast for the eyes. We especially loved the shortbread owls from The Cinnamon Tree Bakery and these simple wooden spoons from Monmouth Coffee. The market is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and is just across Borough High Street from the London Bridge tube station.
Last week, we made the thrilling discovery of Room, a brand new vintage store on Valencia Street, one of our favorite shopping streets in the San Francisco.
It is chock full of fabulous vintage furniture and ephemera, and we found ourselves jauntily humming a familiar Julie Andrews tune as we browsed through a brilliantly curated selection of our favorite things: old wooden rulers, vintage globes, and cozy arm chairs...
...lamps, cigar boxes, foo dogs and milk bottles...
...Matadors, school house tables, and Russian Dolls! We'll happily make "room" chez nous for any of these items (and, indeed, we did!).
The Alameda Flea Market was back last weekend and we were so busy shopping for our new studio shop (photos to come!) that we forgot to take too many photos. One of our favorite finds this time around were all these fantastic vintage pipes - these along with some stick-on mustaches and vintage glasses would make such fun party favors!
We're so excited for the first annual Renegade Craft Fair, coming up on July 11 - 12 at San Francisco's Fort Mason. We'll be there, selling our letterpress greeting cards and shopping for oodles of fabulous hand-crafted goods!
Our friend Nancy Deane at Chronicle Books recently posted an entertaining blog entry documenting the Home Publishing Group's field trip last week to the Hello!Lucky studio in San Francisco. Above, one of the (slightly embarrassing!) photos she took of us tracing the roots of Hello!Lucky back to some of Eunice's original sketchbooks from circa Grade 2. I'm not sure if "Amos the Rat" or Mr. "Bone" the Dog have quite the widespread appeal of our beloved sock monkey, but it all had to start somewhere! Thanks for sharing, Nancy!
