Wedding Inspiration Board - La Vie En Rose

If you follow us on Pinterest you know we can't resist a good wedding inspiration board and we're always creating new mood boards based on some of our favorite wedding suites. We thought we'd bring some of those inspiration boards to the blog and do a regular feature showing how you can style your wedding based on your invite. Once you decide on your invitation it can really be the anchor for all of your wedding decor and design-- from the wedding flowers to the bridesmaids dresses. Today we're showing off one of our favorite invitations for a summer or spring wedding, La Vie En Rose. We just added this suite to our collection and we love the pretty elegant feel of this floral invitation. La Vie En Rose is a versatile design that can be perfect for a rustic outdoor wedding or a more formal affair.

If you go the rustic route for decor this dessert table is a great addition, it's casual and cool with just some burlap and vintage pieces added to the table. We would carry the soft pink color from the invites to the treats and think these pink heart cookies would pair lovely with the feel of a La Vie En Rose wedding.

This line up of bridesmaids in mix and match colors and floral dresses is a lovely way to keep a variety of colors in your wedding decor and not commit to just two or three colors. And what bridesmaid doesn't love getting to chose her own dress? Flowers picked fresh from the garden and roses in mason jars and vintage bottles would pair well with the original floral wedding design.

Izzy's Bouquet Inspiration by Vanessa Mason

I’ve just been away visiting family in Switzerland for a few days, but I’m back again to inspire you to plan your dream wedding. If like me you’re still hungry for more inspiration from Harry Judd (think band Mc Fly and 2012 Strictly Come Dancing winner) and his sweetheart Izzy Johnston’s wedding, read on. Her pretty pastel bouquet, which was made of brunia, freesia, sweet avalanche, pacific blue and avalanche roses, is so on trend. Pastels like nectarine, white linen, African violet and dusk blue are really top of the colour charts as well this spring according to colour trend forecasters Pantone, so take note.

And whilst you’re in a ‘floral’ frame of mind, why not check out Hello! Lucky’s brand new wedding designs: Classic Rose and La Vie en Rose. Again pinks and yellows stand out from the crowd, judging by what dress French actress Marion Cotillard was wearing to the BAFTAs 2013 and by the colour Dame Helen Mirren dyed her hair.

The colour yellow could be that of your bridesmaid’s dresses, table flower arrangements or going away outfit and pink carefully used is great all round, but particularly special for the flower girl’s dresses. I'd steer away from dyeing your hair pink for your special day, but you never know it may be just your thing!

Eunice's Pinterest Picks - Desert Skyline

This week I've been loving succulents, the perfect thing for a romantic desert wedding. Our Desert Skyline invitation would be perfect for the occasion, as would this super cool and minimalist tumbleweed bouquet by JL Designs (photography by Gabriel Ryan Photographers), and fabulous sparkly purse - very 70's disco halter top but in the coolest possible way (photo by Max Wanger from this inspiring Palm Springs weddding). The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs (photo: Lane Dittoe) would make for a hip wedding venue, and I love this bridesmaid's dress (photography by Gabriel Ryan Photographers). Gorgeous and simple cake (from Whole Foods! Real Wedding: Jessica and Lawrence

We're still completely captivated by this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty last week. The bride and groom stunned us with their romantic details, and all-together charm.

Jessica and Lawrence wed in a little garden at the Gore Palace in Waltham, a town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The setting definitely set the mood for their dreamy garden wedding, with tall hedges and outstanding floral displays by Le Reve.

The Nouveau Peonies inspired programs also matched perfectly with the event. The bridesmaids all wore shades of pink, adding just the right amount of color to the natural setting.

Nouveau Peonies made another appearance at the table setting, with fresh sprigs and dreamy gold accents. Delish!

Congratulations Jessica and Lawrence! We wish you both a world of happiness!

Kate Spade wedding!

Kate Spade just launched their first ever wedding line - let the swooning begin! Her line includes retro fabulous dresses for the bride, cute frocks for bridesmaids, and some pretty adorable numbers for the honeymoon! The shoes and accessories aren't too shabby either!

Studio Snapshot: Trunk Show + Bridal Tour

What a busy weekend we've had!  On Saturday Hello!Lucky played host to two of Portland's finest clothing designers - Duchess, a company that crafts retro inspired bespoke suits (grooms, take note!) and Elizabeth Dye who seemed to float into our space with clouds of vintage silk and lace - her wedding dresses are to die for! Then on Sunday we opened our doors to the Dream A Little Dream bridal tour and met a fabulous group of new brides-to-be!

Studio Snapshot: Moving Day!

We all love to know what goes on behind the scenes - a glimpse into the kitchen of that hot new restaurant or the chance to sit at the drawing board of our favorite fashion designer... we're giddy at the thought!  So in the spirit of sharing, we welcome you to our latest weekly feature - Studio Snapshot.  You might get a sneak peek at a snazzy new design we're dreaming up, hear about fun happenings around the studio, or meet some of the awesome people who make Hello!Lucky a super fun place to work!

Our current project is a little office makeover and here Lillian organizes samples in preparation for their shift across the studio.  How gorgeous is that shelf with its lacy carved details?  It was custom made just for us by our lovely and talented friends at Because We Can!

The result of all that hard work is a bright and airy space where customers can browse stationery, buy the latest greeting card or discuss custom wedding invitations with our helpful staff.  Pop in and say hello!

We adore this charming turquoise settee for spontaneous client chats and our giant farmhouse table is just the place for full scale design brainstorming!

Rows and rows of organized samples make it easy to spot favorite designs and gather inspiration!

A letterpress dress?  Oh yes!  This festive number was handmade by one of our crafty employees with Cherry Blossom save the date and RSVP cards.  Could there be a new trend in paper bridesmaid dresses?

A travel themed display showcases some adorable variations on our Destination Series created with local design duo Lab Partners.

With so many vivid colors and sweet little details its hard to pick a favorite but we're always going to be partial to our home sweet home - good old San Francisco!

Trunk Show with Duchess + Elizabeth Dye!

We are thrilled to announce that we are hosting a trunk show with Duchess Custom Clothier (sartorial splendor!) and Elizabeth Dye (dreamy dresses!)  Please join us!

The English Department

We are currently crushing on the lovely wedding dresses to be found at The English Dept...wondering if it's absolutely necessary to be getting married to own this dress! Lounging in a field of grass swathed in tulle and lace is looking quite enticing...

The English Dept. is a design studio and wedding dress boutique, carrying creations hand-picked from independent designers such as Jenny Yoo and Ivy & Aster.  Owner, Elizabeth Dye, designs her own gorgeous collection of wedding gowns as well.

What girl doesn't fantasize about floating about in a cloud of tulle?  Ouma creates these delicate concoctions that would make even the most, ahem, possibly not-so-graceful of us, feel like a a picture of grace and ballerina-like elegance...

Real wedding: Hollin + Eric

We are loving Hollin and Eric's beautiful wedding, full of sweet details and DIY elements. Hollin, along with some helpful friends and family, created most of the decorations, and it all turned out so vintage chic!

Thanks to the very talented Ben Blood for sharing his gorgeous photos of their wedding at Treehouse Point in Issaquah, Washington. Tree-filled and moss-covered, Treehouse Point offers two incredible treehouses for lodging by master treehouse builder Pete Nelson who, along with his wife Judy, host private events and overnight retreats. So natural and ethereal!

The groomsmen donned tweed and wore handmade mismatching boutineers and ties.

Hollin's vintage inspired dress was made by Portland designer Holly Stalder, who even gave Hollin extra fabric for her to make the flower on her veil! So lovely.

Hollin and her bridesmaids made their own headpieces...just gorgeous!

The bride's sister and maid of honor Keiko, hand drew and screen printed coffee and tea bags as favors for the guests.

Hollin's mom made each of the bridesmaid's dresses. We love the fabric and individual sash detailing.

Hello!Lucky designer Anna created whimsical invitations complete with illustrations of the bride and groom dancing under the trees.

What a talented group of people! Congratulations, Hollin and Eric!

Timeless Vixen Vintage

We absolutely LOVE vintage clothing and vintage dresses in particular.  Timeless Vixen Vintage (found via Snippet & Ink - Merry Go Round inspiration board) has not only an amazing selection of gorgeous dresses, but remarkably, many of them are in reasonable sizes as well!  How fabulous would these dresses be for bridemaids?

The dresses are a wee bit pricey, but so fantastic and in such great condition, it might very well be worth it for a special occasion!

Love this 40's number...

We can't get over their really stunning selection of stylish pieces...

Love the cherry red! And a fifties party dress is flattering on almost anyone...

And they have gorgeous things from somewhat harder to find eras, like this navy blue 1930's flutter dress...(and it's not a size 0!  No offense to all you size 0's out there, but for those of us who have so often gazed longingly at a gorgeous bit of vintage with a 25" waist and then, regretfully, put it back on the rack - hurrah!!)

This Edwardian tea dress would make a stunning wedding dress...it reminds of us the dress worn in this woodland inspired wedding....
