To say we were blown away by the entries for our pen pal giveaway with Egg Press is an understatement! We absolutely loved reading your comments and seeing the #LetterPressMailLove photos you tagged us in. Here's a sampling of some of the great photos you shared on instagram.

The three winners for our giveaway were....

Grand Prize Winner Jaclyn: My dream pen pal would be my Great-Great-Grandmother Angelina who immigrated to the U.S. from Italy. Never adopting the English language, I’d love to translate her italian handwriting to read her firsthand account of growing up in Italy in the late 1800s, moving her life to America, and raising 8 children in Delaware. I’ve heard only stories of the strong woman that she was, and her letters would be something I could pass on to keep those stories alive.

2nd Prize Winner Angela: Oh I love this! My dear friend and I have been consistent pen pals since 1997-ish. We even wrote letters when we lived in the same city (we haven't shared a zip code since 1999). The last two Decembers we have tried to make and mail a postcard a day to each other (Daily December). This year we are working on a postcard a week (52 for You).

3rd Prize Winner Samantha from Instagram: Sharing a photo of her correspondence-covered fridge said "Because I live far from friends and family sending letters is an important way for me to keep in touch. I post correspondence with pride."

Studio Snapshot: Personalized Stationery

One of the many perks of working in a letterpress studio is the access to the presses (and quality printers!). Kristine and Christina both fell in love with the same personal stationery design, but put their own unique twist on the concept. Christina's version (above) features a "from the desk of" line along with a feather motif, while Kristine (below) favored a more simple approach.

Both designs were hand-printed on our 1950's Vandercook press.

Donna Hay General Store

Donna Hay opened a gorgeous new home wares store recently in Woolahra, Sydney, Australia.  For those of you not in the know, Donna is an internationally renowned cookbook author, magazine editor and homewares designer.

Emilie Goldstein, the retail manager, shared these lovely pictures of the beautifully styled shop interior.

We're thrilled that our letterpress greeting cards are carried there as part of a hand-picked letterpress stationery selection.

Her magazines and website are full of simple, pretty inspired recipes and crafts like this doily table runner and hand drawn place mats.

A New Look for Hello!Lucky’s Letterpress Stationery Online

We at Hello!Lucky are thrilled to debut our fresh new look online! It’s been a long time coming, and we have to confess we’re doing a little happy dance over here in San Francisco (with a bit of toe-tapping in London!) now that it’s finally gone from imagination to reality!

Our new site features a clean, simple-to-navigate design and tons of gorgeous photos by the amazing Sara Remington. Sara took so many lovely portraits of our letterpress wedding invitations that we had trouble deciding which one to feature on the home page! The options we considered are below – we picked green for its fresh, serene feeling but we’d love to hear what you think!

In envisioning the new site, we wanted to create a drop-dead-gorgeous destination for letterpress wedding invitations, birth announcements, custom stationery, and greeting cards online – a destination that welcomes not only shoppers but those craving ideas and inspiration (given the number of hours we spend at Anthropologie, we know the psychic rewards of trolling through tons and tons of beautiful items and gorgeous design!) .

That’s a lot of ground to cover, so we’re taking baby steps! We’re dipping our toe in the pool (c’mon on in, the water is fine!) by sharing our newly expanded letterpress wedding invitation collection. Enjoy, and we’d love to hear from you!
