Real Weddings: Jenna and Shea

wedding party photo ideas

Jenna and Shea Stanley wed on October 5th 2013 at the Sanctuary in Scottsdale Arizona. Each beautiful moment captured by Erica Velasco Photographers. We love that we get to contribute a small slice to the most unforgettable day of your life! Great ideas for fun wedding party poses! Wonderful use of flowers and succulents in this timeless bouquet. Jenna and Shea chose our Desert Skyline Invitations suite to perfectly compliment their location. We love their rustic flower boxes. A simple yet lovely addition to any table. Our Desert Skyline menu card in a beautiful frame. Great idea for a wedding cake topper too!

Family Photo Shoot with Leah McCormick

Photography by Leah McCormick Just before Imogen was born, we were lucky enough to squeeze in a family photo shoot with the AMAZING Leah McCormick...

photography by Leah McCormick

We just got the photos back this week, and I couldn't resist sharing them - Leah did such a fabulous job capturing our family (and all accompanying silliness)...

Photography by Leah McCormick

The shoot was so relaxed and fun that even my husband Daniel, who is usually a bit grumbly about being made to participate in such shenanigans, had a great time - and was super pleased with the results...

Love her sense of composition and the way she captures light and color!

Holiday Cards with Rikki Ward Photography

As members of the wedding industry and as seasoned stationers, we understand the true power of a good holiday photo card. For newlyweds, sending holiday cards is often the first time a couple mails greetings to loved ones as a new family - and many times is an introduction to their new lives together post-wedding. But instead of snapping a quick portrait in your back yard or by a handheld camera, we highly suggest newlyweds take advantage of their wedding photos and upload a favorite into one of our new holiday photo cards. We tested a few of our favorite newlywed portraits by Rikki Ward Photography and we're loving the various themes.

Edyta Szyszlo Photography

This post has been long overdue and we couldn't be more proud to share our love and gratitude for Edyta Szyszlo Photography. You've seen her name mentioned in posts before but today we're revealing her true art. Edyta started collaborating with us last summer before the release of our guest designer holiday collection. From the moment she stepped foot in our studio we were certain we couldn't lose her. Her fun-loving personality makes work seem like play and if you're the one in front of the lens - there's nothing to fear - Edyta will make you shine!

Some of our particular favorites are Edyta's engagement photo sessions. She's pursued the most eclectic San Francisco neighborhood backdrops and traveled far-and-wide for the perfect pictures.

You may recognize these images from a Michelle and Jacob's Real Wedding last year. Edyta's photo made the cover of their Just Married card and it sparked a whole new trend here at Hello!Lucky. Her commercial photography is just as outstanding as her wedding images, and you can tell we love it because our website is basically an Edyta shrine!

Glitter, stripes and a whole blend of colors. This is the reason we love Edyta! Many many thanks to our friend for making our products look amazing and for always bringing a smile to our faces! Visit Edyta Szyszlo Photography to book your next session today!

Inspired by: Wedding Invitation Suites

With wedding season about to kick off, we're gearing up for some amazing additions to our collection. Wedding invitations serve as the first source of inspiration for the big day, and with all the pieces in check, you can really start to see all the details come to life. Frequently we find ourselves browsing through the photo database for inspiration drawn from particular invitations, and we wanted to share a place where you can do the same. Whether your wedding has a rustic farm theme, a sleek and modern theme, or a whimsical and playful theme, these photos will have you planning in no time! Click on the photos for a larger view!

Southern Belle (above) and its darling motifs will make that sweet southern wedding that much more charming. The delicate watercolors by Anne Smith are calling for lots of floral garland and white daisies!

Rolling Acres is just right for a summer celebration. And the pennant liners (available soon!) will add a festive flare to your party invitation.

Figs has more rustic and natural qualities. Perfect for an outdoor wedding where locally sourced food and flowers are the focus.

We love the crisp and clean details of the Desert Skyline invitation suite. Bouquets of succulents and dried flowers arranged among rough wooded tables would complement this style beautifully.

Heartland is another favorite and best for the down-home country weddings we all dream about. We've seen lots of brides customize the colors and layout of this design, but it always stands out with some amazing farm-chic accessories.

Big Day is one of our most popular suites, with its playful wording and simplistic hand-drawn icons, it's definitely a party starter. We've replaced the Golden Gate Bridge icon with other simple motifs, and it's still just as sweet!

We can't imagine a Cape Cod wedding without lots of nautical accompaniments. This maritime suite designed by Anne Smith was made just for our brides ready to wed by the ocean air.

A custom design gallery with all of our invitation suites is in the making, along with lots of brand new designs. Do you have a favorite style or wish we would create a wedding suite around a certain theme? Let us know in the comments!

Real Wedding: Devorah and Carlo

blog_devorah+carlo_6-711x502

It's hard to imagine a more beautiful couple getting married in a more beautiful place. Devorah and Carlo conquered both coasts of the country before wedding at the Trentadue Winery in Sonoma County. Catherine Hall captured every delicate detail of their big day among the beautiful California backdrop. With a warm summer night and a lively band, the event was sure to be magical! We also loved reading the story about how each side of the family contributed an heirloom or tradition, and how simple and comfortable the proposal was.

We had the pleasure of printing the couples wedding invitations and table stationery, and adore their warm and rustic decor. Congratulations Devorah and Carlo!

Say Cheese! The Best of Photobooths

boat-wedding-photobooth

(via Ruffled)

Photobooths are so popular right now, and with good reason - who doesn't love hamming it up for the camera with costumes, props and a bunch of very close friends?  They're especially great at weddings to capture your guests at their finest.  Our favorites make creative use of festive props, brilliant backdrops and a whole lot of sassy attitude.

The gorgeous paper decorations in these Smilebooth photos make us absolutely swoon!

Fabulous props are definite must-haves (we all love a good wooden mustache) and the sillier the better as with this great snap from Studiobooth.

This snazzy photobooth set up found on Oh Happy Day, is a Francophile's dream come true.  Je t'aime!

And last but not least, H!L gets into the action at the TILT wedding fair in September.  Leslie and Lia took a little break to jump into the Magnolia Photo Booth and test drive some natty costumes.  To the Batmobile ladies!

Real Wedding: Lacey and Sam

Check out Lacey and Sam's charming wedding in Portland! lacey3

Everything is so beautiful and green! Looks like a perfect summer day for a beautiful wedding!

We love how they used all different colors of our Sweetheart design for their different cards and envelopes. The effect is adorable. Dig the DIY paper belly bands, ribbon and envelope liners.  Beautiful, bright and summery!

Charming table settings.  They used tea tins for their floral arrangements. Brilliant!

Lovely!  If you would like to see more photos of the wedding, Lacey sent us a link to this Bridal Banter blog.  The photography is courtesy of River Rock Studio.

Sara Remington Photography

Sarah Remington PeasSarah Remington EggsSara Remington Wedding 2Sara Remington Wedding 1 We mentioned that Bay Area-based photographer Sara Remington did a lot of the fabulous wedding invitation photography on our new website. The moment we saw her stunning saturated colors, and simple, evocative compositions, we were hooked. Sara is an award-winning food photographer and winner of the prestigious Photo District News' '30 Emerging Photographers to Watch in 2006'.

There’s also good news for brides-to-be: Sara is an incredible wedding photographer, represented through the equally fabulous Anna Kuperberg (Note: this is a gorgeous website, but turn the volume on your computer down if you don't want to set off a spontaneous salsa party in your office/cubicle/immediate environment!). Sara shared the fabulous rickshaw photo above with us from a wedding she recently shot in Beijing, China, and we love her wonderful still life photos, too, of course!

She has an incredible eye for detail, is super-reliable and efficient, and puts everyone at ease!
